Mary's Biography
Mary was born in Washington,
DC but moved to NC at the age of 3.
Mary graduated from South Mecklenburg High School and attended Alamance
Community College majoring in Business Administration. In 2002, Mary received
her Certification in Ministry Assistant and has completed 1½ years of her
Seminary Extension Classes through the Association. She is a member of the North
Carolina Southern Baptist Secretary Association and is very active with the
Secretaries in the Rowan Association. Mary is an author, inspirational speaker
and Christian Comedian. In addition, she has her own ministry called - Mary
Jones Ministries.
Mary is married to her childhood sweetheart, Bob Jones and January of 2009 celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. Bob is a native of North Carolina and a
Vietnam Veteran. God has blessed them with 3 grown children; Roland (Sonny)
Jones, Amber Jones Lang and Ulle Kartby. They also have 6 wonderful
grandchildren; Rebecca, Anna, Oscar, Alan, Matthew and Jordan. Bob and Mary have been involved with
Gideon’s International for over 21 years.
On Wednesday, November 24,
2010, Mary suffered a heart attack and went to be with her Lord. This happened
as she served him while preparing for the annual Rowan SBA Christmas Store.
Mary had been with Rowan Southern Baptist Association as Administrative
Assistant since the spring of 2000.

“I accepted the Lord as my
personal Savior on Sunday, December 30, 1979 at Riverside Baptist Church in
Graham, North Carolina. I believe that the birth, death, and resurrection of the
The Lord Jesus Christ is the only way of Salvation.”

"Today, Wednesday, November 24, 2010, has been a very sad day in the life
of Rowan Southern Baptist Association. Mary Jones, our faithful Ministry
Assistant died suddenly around 10:00am at the office. She was working
diligently preparing for our upcoming Christmas Store when she collapsed
while talking with me about setting up the counseling areas. Medical crews
tried to revive her, but without success. Please be in prayer for her
husband, Bob Jones, her family, myself, and our entire Association of
churches. Mary will be greatly missed. Thank you for your prayers and
concern.
